About us.
Our name means "Zero" in Sanskrit, the number that is nothing at all, yet means everything to humanity and more specifically to us.
At Shunyam our goal is to reach "zero". "Zero plastic waste" to help our ecosystem sustain the drastic impact our planet has faced due to plastic pollution. Doesn't seem so small a number does it?
Our Origins
Before launching this initiative, founder Akshat Ghiya worked for a petrochemical company selling plastic granules in Daman, which many consider the Mecca for Plastic production in the country. While working for the firm he learned about "Re-cycling" and the problems faced by the recyclers in processing Multi-Layered Packaging and contaminated plastics.
So a question aroused why do we need so much plastic for packaging and why aren't our products designed to eliminate or reduce it?
Out of this epiphany, Shunyam was born!
We at Shunyam strive to create natural, chemical-free, and zero-waste products for the common man without having them worry about "Green Washing". With items produced locally and at fair prices, our mission is to make sustainability in our day-to-day lives accessible to all because going zero waste should not be a privilege.
